An Afternoon with Maggie Gyllenhaal at Story Stable's PowerMom Celebration

On May 11, Loacker partnered with Story Stable to present their 2019 PowerMom event at HELEN MILLS.  Kickstarting Mother’s Day weekend, it was an afternoon to celebrate, appreciate, and empower moms.  The annual event featured this year’s PowerMom honoree, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, as their inspiring example of a working mother.

Decked out with chic furniture and playful branding, the event space was the perfect setting for the pre-event reception.  Guests gathered in the lounge to experience Loacker’s wafer tasting station, along with delightful veggie-based bites by Methods & Madness.  While enjoying champagne and conversation, they were joined by Ms. Gyllenhaal for a casual meet-and-greet.  A dramatic curved step-and-repeat provided a beautiful backdrop where attendees could pose for photos before heading downstairs to the main event.

The intimacy of the theater was ideal for the one-on-one interview between Narmeen Choudhury, news reporter and fill-in anchor at PIX11, and Maggie Gyllenhaal.  Story Stable transformed the stage into a cozy television-style interview set, suitable for both the live audience in attendance and those viewing the Facebook Live stream online.

Ms. Gyllenhaal was candid and relatable in discussing what it is like raising her two girls, while maintaining an active and successful career.  She openly shared her experiences on many different facets of motherhood and inspired the audience with her down-to-earth perspective.  She was a shining example of Loacker’s motto: “goodness, without compromise” and a true model of the #PureGoodPowerMom community.
