COVID-19 & Our Event Community

As COVID-19 sweeps through the country, professionals in the events and hospitality industries are some of the hardest hit.  With social distancing the new norm, gatherings and events as we know them have become (temporarily) paused.  

For folks who bring people together for a living, this difficult time offers a unique challenge.  Although there is no substitute for human-to-human connection, we are inspired by the innovation and creativity being employed to bring people together in remote ways.  The passion of the events industry shines through as we navigate how to build community, celebrate milestones, engage in group learning, and sustain meaningful relationships… even without sharing a physical space!

HELEN MILLS usually serves as that physical space where people come together.  So, what are we doing to stay connected while apart?  Our team is working from home and using platforms like Slack and Zoom to stay in touch with each other.  We are working hand-in-hand (or perhaps we should say elbow-to-elbow) with our current clients to reschedule their events and are happy to continue assisting prospective clients with plans for the future.  Our online tools like our Photo Gallery and Virtual Tour are more popular than ever, allowing people to see our space without having to step foot in the door.

These trying times are forcing us all to build bridges that span more space than we ever imagined.  From this experience, we will choose to focus on the positives and celebrate the new methods by which we connect with our communities, bring people together, and reach our audiences.  There is still so much uncertainty about when this will pass, but rest assured our industry will come back stronger than ever, and when it does, HELEN MILLS will be ready and waiting to serve you.
