Sales Manager Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative and experienced sales person for the HELEN MILLS Event Space & Theater located at 135 West 26th Street in Manhattan. The person should have a passion for event sales and be able to produce excellent results for clients and the company as part of a small, dedicated and professional team.

The Job

·         Set and meet or exceed budgeted monthly sales goals

·         Drive new business opportunities through sales strategies and initiatives

·         Maintain and grow current, prospective and referral clients 

·         Respond to client inquiries and provide information regarding venue and event services

·         Create proposals, contracts and secure payment from clients

·         Transition client to event fulfillment  team and develop strategy for future events with client

Time Allocation

·         Sales and client management -  80%

·         Special projects and ideation -  10%

·         Analysis and goal setting - 10%

Qualifications

·         3-5 years of event sales experience, with a record of hitting or achieving ambitious sales goals

·         Strong focus on organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-up, and communication, both with client and other team members

·         Passion and enthusiasm for sales and events

·         Possess a ‘can do,’ entrepreneurial attitude

·         Have well established customer relationships, able to initiate new business in a timely manner

·         Proven ability to contribute new ideas and learn new skills

·         Bachelor’s degree

·         Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, experience with Tripleseat  a plus

·         Commitment to continuing education and reading widely
